The longest season of the year comes to an end as Winter 2010 says goodbye to the Regular Season. There is no clear favorite to win the title in any division and the field is wide open as it has ever been. A lot of questions remain unanswered – will -_- PG Jordan Ramos break the assists record? Will Gunnaz finish the season with an undefeated 8-0 record? Which team will win LeBronze Division?
Flava 4 Life vs. SICKWIDIT
PLATINUM DIVISION
This is a game SICKWIDIT must win. Relics and SICKWIDIT are even in the regular season and SICKWIDIT needs Flava 4 Life to beat Relics. The former Champs have a double-header and will also take on Infamous.
The brackets in Platinum are interesting and one out of the 3 teams will not qualify for postseason action. Will Infamous drop the ball on Week 8? Will Relics sit out from the Playoffs for the second season in a row? Will SICKWIDIT, a season from dropping from Diamond Division, drop from the post-season altogether?
Flava 4 Life is undefeated with a 7-0 record but that should change since GM Mario Thompson will be running the LA Marathon this weekend. Mike looks to pick up the slack and he is averaging 4.0 apg, 16.4 ppg. Dwayne is averaging 21.2 ppg and 1.5 spg while Corey is averaging 19.5 ppg in 4 games.
Gary Beiard leads the team with 28 three-pointers and he is averaging 23.2 ppg. James Griffin s averaging 3.7 apg, 8.0 ppg while Pierre Baker is scoring 13.3 ppg in 4 games.
LA United vs. Relics
PLATINUM DIVISION
Relics (3-3) and LA United (0-6) both have a double-header. LA United’s lost season is pretty much over while Relics is a borderline Playoff team. Will LA United hand Relics an upset for the ages?
Platinum Division enthusiasts are praying Kenneth Ubom returns for this match-up just to beat Relics and knock them out of the Playoffs. Ubom was dropped from the roster after one week of action but GM Rob Da Silva has asked for a re-instatement. Will Ubom show up for LA United?
Ryan Snook leads Platinum with 26 three-pointers while Cisco Acevado isn’t far behind with 24 three’s of his own. It’s the game within the game, who will end the season on top of the 3-point category?
nWo vs. LA United
PLATINUM DIVISION
LA United has two games on the schedule and they take on two of the elite teams in Platinum Division, Relics and n W o.
Last week, nWo barely won 78-76 as Terrence Martin led the team with 26 points. Alex “Bear” Ivezaj grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds while Jonathan Wynn dished a team-high 5 assists. The game wasn’t scheduled on the calendar but after Relics refused to play on Week 7, last minute changes had nWo playing against LA United.
With LAU knowing what they’re up against, can they make adjustments and upset nWo?
Dream Team vs. Triple Threat
WOMEN’S DIVISION
Dream Team is struggling this season with a 2-4 season. The only bright side has been the play of Amanda Aoun who is averaging 16.3 points and 9.3 rebounds. However her success has not translated into victories. Dream team faces another tough match up in week 8 against triple threat. Amanda will be matched up against Samantha Cardeno. She is averaging a team high 15 points and 1.5 threes per game. Unlike Amanda her success has translated into a 4-2 record and a legitimate championship contender. The winner of this individual matchup should determine the outcome of this game.
Lady Air vs. Deaconettes
WOMEN’S DIVISION
Deaconnettes has struggled all season with a 1-4 record. They have the talent to be a solid team and with a little more playing time under their belt they could be contending in the near future. They are currently led by the duo of Danyell Miller and Doshnie Montalvo. They combine for 27.8 points and 15.6 rebounds. The team will need more of that if they want a chance at knocking off top seeded Lady Air. Lady Air only has one player in double figures but they get it done with ball movement and defense. As a team they average 10.3 assists, 5.3 steals, and 1.5 blocks. Those stat lines are the reason why they are the top ranked team in the division.
Lady Lobos vs. Deaconettes
WOMEN’S DIVISION
Deaconettes have a double-header while Lady Lobos is looking to cruise this weekend. Word has it that GM Omar Alameddine is waiting until the Playoffs to unleash his roster once again. The end of a dynasty is near, and Lady Lobos is the heir to Lady Air’s throne, he says. Will he deliver with that promise at the end of the season?
Deaconettes shouldn’t be overlooked and they have an outside chance of making the Playoffs should they beat Lady Air and Lady Lobos.
