Flava 4 Life vs. SICKWIDIT
PLATINUM DIVISION
Playing with just 4 players, running without GM Mario Thompson, Flava-4-Life loses big and allows SICKWIDIT to clinch a Playoff spot. SICKWIDIT wins, 87-68 behind Gary Beaird’s 32 points and 9 three-pointers.
The two will meet in the 1st Round of the Playoffs and if SICKWIDIT pulls the upset, Flava-4-Life will have a lot of regrets. They should have knocked SICKWIDIT out of the Playoffs but instead, the team played with just 4 players. Dwayne scored 24 points and grabbed 4 steals while both Rocky and Corey scored 16 points apiece.
SICKWIDIT was down by as many as 10 points and finally made a run early in the 2nd half. Gary Beaird had the play of the day with two straight oops to Chris Reeves as SICKWIDIT pushed the lead, 61-51. Reeves finished with 20 points and 6 assists while Larry Parker finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
LA United vs. Relics
PLATINUM DIVISION
Relics led 67-44 at halftime but the lackluster play in the 2nd half allowed LA United to come back. Without no defense on both ends of the floor, Relics defeated LA United, 99-89.
Ryan Snook finished with 21 points and 4 three-pointers while David Johnson added 17 points and 7 assists. Andrew Knox scored 13 while Sean Harris led Relics with 3 three-pointers. Relics combined for 22 assists while LA United combined for just 11 dimes.
Lonny Crockett scored 25 points and 10 rebounds while James Every scored 22 points and grabbed 6 boards. GM Rob Da Silva scored 20 points and dished a team-high 4 assists.
“This season has been tough,” said Da Silva, post-game. “Guys say they’ll show up but flake last minute…it’s been tough.”
nWo vs. LA United
PLATINUM DIVISION
Looking to finish the season early, nWo cruised to a 88-72 loss against LA United.
LA United won their first game of the season behind Donald Colford’s 24 points and 4 three-pointers. Lonny Crockette finished with 22 points and 15 boards while GM Rob Da Silva logged 12 points and 7 rebounds.
nWo allowed too many points in the post and the team played without their front court in Harry Yoo, Mark Davison, and Tony Allmond. Terrence Martin finished with 28 points while Alex “Bear” Ivezaj led nWo with 17 rebounds.
Dream Team vs. Triple Threat
WOMEN’S DIVISION
Triple Threat made quick work of Dream Team with a 60-36 win. Triple Threat combined for 18 assists as SG Samantha Cardeno picked the defense apart for 11 assists.
Rosa Lee added 16 points and 19 rebounds while GM Elizabeth Skiles finished with 14 points and 9 rebounds for Triple Threat. Melissa Martinez added 11 points and 8 boards while Leslie Ross scored 7 points, 6 rebounds, 2 blocks.
Dream Team was led by Amanda Aoun who finished with 13 points and 8 rebounds. Megan Jimenez grabbed 5 rebounds and 4 steals while Laura Nguyen led Dream Team with 5 steals.
Lady Air vs. Deaconettes
WOMEN’S DIVISION
After losing to Deaconettes with just 3 players weeks ago, Lady Air played with 5 players in the re-match. Lady Air defeats Deaconettes, 77-43.
Tristin Alfred finished with 23 points and 6 rebounds while Latasha scored 20 points and 3 steals. Kareena led the 3-time Champions with 23 rebounds and 3 steals. The Champs were efficient from the stripe converting 13-of-16 shots from the line (81.3%).
LA team Deaconettes made their living from long distance as the team combined for 7 three-pointers. Jenice Morua knocked down 3 three-pointers for 9 points while Jaina Abdul-Mansour finished with 9 points and 3 rebounds. The team was out-rebounded, 47-24.
