Elements vs. Game Bang
LEBRONZE DIVISION

This was a game Game Bang let slip away as Elements upset Game Bang, 53-52 in OT.

The former LeBronze Division Champions were on their way to another win as AJ Francisco set up Jeri De Leon (25 points, 3 three-pointers) for a 3-pointer to give Game Bang a 4 point lead late in the game (46-42). Elements responded with Center Newman Cameron and he finished with a game high 19 points, 10 rebounds and 3 blocks. GM James Bernardo connected on a free throw at the end of regulation to send the game to OT and he finished with 7 points and 5 rebounds.

It was all Newman in the extra period and Game Bang couldn’t find anyone to stop him. Rosan Bernardino finished with 15 points while Joseph Azuela added 12 points and 12 rebounds. Elements dominated the glass, 46-29 as Game Bang had the edge in the steals department, 10-3.

Aaron Wong connected on a 3-pointer as time expired and the shot was waived off by officials. Wong finished with 11 points while Alex Ho added 5 points. GM Jay Fernandez finished with 4 points while AJ Francisco finished with 2 steals.

Elements vs. Ninja Turtles
LEBRONZE DIVISION

Ninja Turtles started the game on a 9-0 run as Elements fall to Ninja Turtles, 67-58.

Center Newman Cameron finished with 25 points and 8 rebounds while GM James Bernardo logged 11 points and 3 assists. Luke Montilla, suffering an injury late in the game, finished with 8 points and 4 rebounds. Lor Reyes logged 6 points while Rosan Bernardino finished with 4 points and 6 rebounds. With a set of a back-to-back double header, Elements couldn’t find a consistent scorer expect for Center Newman Cameron.

“It will be interesting to see where Newman ends up next season,” questioned a league analyst. “Elements are separating to two different teams, we’ll see what happens.”

On the opposite end, Ninja Turtles is catching momentum and Ninja Turtles is expected to make a huge jump next season. GM Eric Villegas was huge with 13 points and 4 rebounds while leading scorer Bryan Gerux knocked down a team-high 16 points and 7 rebounds. Efehi Ogbebor, showing off his zumba shake moves, finished with 10 points and 3 rebounds.

“He’s one of the biggest guys on the floor but he’s also one of the versatile,” said Harry Yoo, league analyst. “All that zumba class at 24 is paying off.”

Krunk’d vs. Mint Kondition
LEBRONZE DIVISION

“Bang, bang.”
“Bang, bang, bang.”

“Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang.”

He annoyed the hell out of Mint Kondition and the league’s #1 Hated, Ryan Rulloda, connected for a game-high 6 three-pointers and 20 points. It wasn’t enough as Mint Kondition avenged a Week 6 defeat as they beat rival team, Krunk’d, 52-39.

Mint Kondition led 22-12 as Darrell Mendoza finished with 14 points, 11 rebounds, and 6 assists. Dexter Moreno finished with 14 points and 4 three-pointers while GM Jeff Jumarang added 7 points and 2 assists. Patrick Ayo has transformed himself as the team’s lockdown defender and he led the team with 4 steals.

“Jumarang has several options in his line-up but Ayo is arguably their best defender,” said a league analyst. “Any time they go box-1, they should have Ayo shadowing the other team’s best player.”

Krunk’d was led by GM Ryan Rulloda’s 20 points but he settled for long distance 3-pointers and his team wasn’t having it. The whispers were louder than ever and league analyst Harry Yoo had to agree.

“Does he have to shoot every shot?” said a player from the bench.

“I think he’s going for that 3-point title,” said Yoo.

Kevin Urbayan finished with 13 points and 14 rebounds while Daune Goce added 6 points and 7 rebounds. Only 3 players scored for Krunk’d and it was clear the result didn’t matter as Rulloda launched at every opportunity.

“Hands down #1 hated, even by his own teammates,” added Yoo. “Bang, bang.”

Assassins vs. Lights Out
LEBRONZE DIVISION

Lights Out franchise player, Cyrus Regalado, said goodbye to LeBronze Division as Lights Out once again defeat Assassins, 77-72.

“I will retire from LeBronze if Lights Out doesn’t win the Championship,” said Regalado on Superstar Radio earlier this season.

Regalado went off for 29 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists while GM Victor Ng finished with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 3 three-pointers. Jon Diosomito logged 3 assists and was the second leading scorer with 14 points. Joe Sae Kang finished with 10 points while Ed Principe cruised to 8 points.

Assassins GM Rodney Ching, motivated to bring his best game on the court on Sunday, vowed to shoot 1,000 jumpers on Saturday night and the extra practice paid off. Ching knocked down 3 three-pointers in a row at one point and he finished with 17 points and 5 three-pointers. Kevin Valmonte led the team with 24 points and 3 steals while Ed Ferrer knocked down 14 points and 4 assists. Center Calvin Chen led the team with 7 rebounds while former GM Ron Hernandez added 2 assists.

Ferrer went on an 8-0 run all by himself and with 10 seconds left, Ching knocked down a 3-pointer to bring Assassins within 2. In an attempt to tie the game, Ching had the ball slip through his hands (and into his face) as Lights Out finish the season with a 6-2 record.

Game Bang vs. Justice League
LEBRONZE DIVISION

Justice League dominated the post but it wasn’t enough as Game Bang defeat Justice League, 57-54.

The Pomona team dominated the glass, 38-23, as Leomar Cachola finished with 12 rebounds and 14 points. Kyle Padiernos led the team with 18 points and he finished with 8 rebounds. Josh Padiernos added 4 points while Justin Padiernos grabbed 9 rebounds. Ernie Cachola was the second leading scorer with 14 points but was visibly upset at the end of the game as he stormed out from Walnut Rec.

“F- this I am done,” said Cachola.

“No one took the game seriously until the last 3 minutes,” said the team’s GM, Leomar Cachola.

Aaron Wong was clutch in the 2nd half as he knocked down all 4 of his 3-pointers in the 2nd half. Wong finished with 16 while Alex Ho finished with 10 points and 6 rebounds. AJ Francisco logged 3 points and 3 rebounds while Jay Fernandez grabbed 4 rebounds. Jeri De Leon struggled with just 8 points and he finished with 4 rebounds. The team may have struggled from grabbing rebounds but they made up for it on the offensive end by knocking down 3-pointers led by Aaron Wong.

“Normally you win on the defensive end and you have a better chance at winning when you own the boards,” said a league analyst. “Game Bang lucked out when their shots were falling in,” added the league analyst.

Mint Kondition vs. Still Fly
LEBRONZE DIVISION

Chasing his 3rd scoring title, “Uno Dos” went off for 20 points in the 1st half as Still Fly even their season record against Mint Kondition, 1-1. The game went into OT as Still Fly escaped with a 62-60 victory.

Hanz Jimenez aka Uno Dos finished with 23 points and 4 three-pointers while Phrankie Sanchez added 18 points and 17 rebounds. PF Tino Aldaco finished with 11 points and 4 assists while GM John Paras added 4 assists and 4 steals. Uno Dos has made a habit of scoring 20 plus points in the 1st half for much throughout the season but has continually struggled in the decisive half when teams clamp down on him.

“We’re always up big in the 1st half and he’s usually going off from downtown,” said Paras. “I don’t know if he likes keeping the game close but he’ll have 4 straight turnovers and he’ll keep missing shots.”

The team rallied from a 15 point deficit as Dexter Moreno went off in the decisive half with 17 points and 3 three-pointers. Darrel Mendoza finished with 15 points and led the team with 4 steals. Center Chris Ayo led the team with 9 rebounds and he finished with 8 points. Mint Kondition GM Jeff Jumarang had some of the nastiest dimes in the game and he finished with 2 assists and 9 points.

“I think Jeff and the other guy, Phrankie from Still Fly, those two have some of the fanciest passing games in the division,” said a fan.
